The main takeaway from this book for me is the importance of counter-intuitive thinking. If you can look at the same problems as everyone else but see them through a new or different lens, you can come up with new and different ways to solve them.

Changing your mind based on new information is an important part of how we understand the world. This applies to all aspects of life, not just business. We can think better and see things more clearly when we’re willing to let go of old beliefs. Learning new things should help us understand the world in new ways.

The power law also stood out to me: a small handful of companies radically outperform all the others. Focusing too much on diversification can cause you to miss those rare companies in the first place.
